A poem about ten seconds of eternity.
When I see you, even for a second, time slows to a crawl. My heart beats heavily, waiting for your foot to fall. I gasp for air and avert my eyes, hoping, for that dreadful instant, you had not seen me spy. Though against my will, my eyes rush to meet yours, a smile on your lips and my heart melts to it's core. But then you’re gone, vanished like the wind, as fast as that moment with you I had to spend. As I stumble forward, every ounce of my pride gone, I realize my life now, and how the emptiness is so wrong. What I'd do for love isn't a question of why, but a question of when I'd get to see you again, even just for one more time.
