Subject: Lupine-Unified Natural Assassin 13-752-8
Function: Untraceable assassination; complete consumption of intended target
Species: Grey Wolf/Human Cross-Genetic specimen
Gender: Female
Project Status: Terminated
Reason: Project abandoned due to the uncontrollable nature of the subject and the playful tendencies exhibited during observations.

Harold Woode was stunned when he read the report. How could his brilliant project have been terminated? It was true that Luna still had playful tendencies, but she was still young, certainly she would grow out of them. The project directors simply didn’t understand, how could they, they hadn’t spent the last twenty years of their lives perfecting the gene splicing techniques to create a live subject, capable of consuming an entire human alive. They hadn’t been the ones encoding the mental pathways it took to put the desire to do so into her brain, and they certainly hadn’t spent the last five years raising her. No, they had no right to terminate this project, not after all the work he had put into it. It wasn’t fair. He wouldn’t allow it, not after all the work he had done. He had to at least allow part of the project to live on. “Luna, darling, come here please.” He called, knowing that the only way to keep her safe would be to have her hide, and to give himself up to his superiors. He knew full well that they didn’t tolerate failure, but he would not allow them to kill his precious Luna either. He would have to take his chances on their mercy. Even if he died, he knew that his legacy would live on. Just then Luna came bounding into the room on all fours, her tongue lolling and her stomach bulging, a clear sign she had recently eaten.
“Yes father?” She asked, standing upright just in front of Dr. Woode. He couldn’t help but marvel at his work for a moment, noticing only now that she was actually turning out to be quite beautiful. Standing there, naked before him, he realized that with her lithe form, and ample chest, she would easily be able to seduce her way to any target she could possibly have, and with her method of killing as efficient as it was he knew she would never fail.
“Luna, there are going to be some guests, friends of mine, coming over later today. They’re going to ask about you, want to see you, but no matter what you see or hear you must not let them find you. Hide from them well enough, and I’ll give you a very nice reward.” He said, lying for the sake of her young mind. He knew that she wouldn’t be able to understand that the men coming were here to take her away, lock her up for studying until she eventually went mad or died. He knew that it was for the best, even if it did hurt him to have to lie to her.
“But why daddy? I want to meet your friends. Maybe we could play that game you taught me, everything else I’ve played it with has loved it so much, even the groundskeeper. See?” She asked, gesturing toward her tummy, still struggling weakly. “Why can’t I play with your friends, just like I got to play with everyone else?”
“Because, dearest, these men don’t like that sort of game. In fact, if they find you, they won’t ever let you play that game again. Please, just stay hidden when they come, and don’t make a sound. I promise everything will be alright. Maybe you and I will even get to play that game some time.” Dr. Woode realized that, though he might need a new groundskeeper, the disappearance of this one, Mr. Greene, would make the story of Luna’s escape that much more believable. He might even get a chance to die in the belly of his creation, just as he wanted. There was always a chance that, if they believed him, they wouldn’t take him to the main office. Dieing by Luna, at least, was far less painful than anything they would do to him their.
“Alright father, I’ll stay hidden, I promise.” Luna pouted, going off to her room. “But we had better play some day, just like you promised.”
“We will, Luna, we will.” Dr. Woode said with a sigh of relief, assured that his legacy, at least, would survive. Just then there came a knock at the door, and he knew already who it was. He slowly got up, and walked to the door, not surprised when he saw two men in white suits standing there, waiting for him.
“Dr. Wood?” They inquired in unison, looking the doctor squarely in the eyes.
“Yes, that would be me. I assume you’ve come about my project, yes?” He replied smoothly, no hint of nervousness in his voice.
“That would be correct. Are you going to hand her over, or are we going to have to take her?”
“I’m afraid you won’t be able to. She ate the groundskeeper and then fled into the forest earlier today. I doubt you’ll be able to find her. She was trained to evade capture.”
“You’re going to have to come with us, sir. The main office is going to want to hear about this.” Both men reached out, taking him by an arm before he even had a chance to respond, dragging him toward the plain black van parked not far away.
Luna peered out from behind a curtain, watching as two men in white suits forced her father into a van. She waved before ducking quickly back out of sight as the men turned around. She knew, already, that her father wouldn’t be back, yet she smiled and sat there, her tail wagging expectantly. Even though she knew, she was going to act like he would be back; she would for days, until there came a knock at her door. It was a man she had never seen before. He had become lost in the forest and stumbled upon the mansion. He hadn’t expected to find Luna, and Luna certainly hadn’t been expecting him, but then again, she was hungry, and it had been days since she last played her game... Perhaps living alone here wouldn’t be so bad after all.
