One of several poems written while hanging on by a thread....
Soul’s Burden

Through smiles and laughter,
through sadness and tears,
I shine.

Through happy times,
through tragedy,
I shine.

When the sun is bright,
when the skies are gray,
I shine.

When life’s a celebration,
when all hope is lost,
I shine.

When there is nothing left of me,
and I have nothing more to offer,
I shine.

It is my soul’s burden to shine.
To light me from within.
Always.
