The Verge

The voice screams
“Hold on! Hold on!”
The screams are for me.
To help
To guide
To halt
To change
To encourage

The voice whispers,
“See? It has past.”
The whispers are for me.
To calm
To reassure
To remind
To recognize
To remember

The voice is silent.
The voice, only I can hear
When I’m on the verge,
The voice is in my head.
