Looking Back. Third place winner of stacy's New Kid On The Block Poetry contest.

Hindsight

As I look back on life, I examine and ponder,
What could I have done to make my memories fonder?
Are there many actions I’ve taken, that I’d now change?
So many things, now, I could delete or rearrange.

Would I want to have won all the battles I once lost?
Less victorious of those won, would come at a cost.
Omitting and editing all the bits I’d shun,
Would be an extensive makeover without the fun.

With no unfortunate acts or decisions yet made,
How is it possible for a skilled life to cascade?
Tweaking all imperfections and wrong doings I’ve done,
Wouldn’t be my life, instead an idealistic one.

I always look back and think hard about what I’ve done,
Mostly I try to learn, then those lessons have been won,
With hindsight on my side, I can positively say,
I would live my life in exactly, the very same way!
