Saved by an Angel

Sometimes our minds can go to places
that send us whirling into deep depression
Just recently this happened to me
so I have this confession....

My Mom’s been really sick, I was afraid
God would take her away to live with him
She’s lived a long and healthy life
now she is ninety one

But I was not ready to let go of the
precious one we call “Our Mom”
Then from  heaven came an Angel
who gave me hope, and saved me from myself

This Angel is my Sissy Shi
who held me in her arms, when I was down
She led me to dust off my old poetry and song
and put them here for all to see, on Writing.com

She taught me that heaven is a place
where people hold you in their hearts
Now the fragments of my life live here
to be shared with everyone

Looking through these bits and pieces of my life
took me to another place, another time
So my mind could  rest and be content
that mem’ries really do live on...

Now this story isn’t over yet
there’s more to this than just a poem…
My Angel saved me with her sweet love
when things got rough

Shi is the one who gave me the courage to go on
who let me see it’s not so bad,
this place they call the Promise land
So I want to say I love you Shi for all you’ve done


You’ve earned your Angel Wings as far as I’m concerned
And I’m content in knowing, I’ll  be the wind beneath
another place and time, someday when YOU need me 
But for now sweet one, I’m flying without wings...
