This life so far, with all its splendors.
from the wild prairie
counting shadowfish
catching floating willows.

she's nobody's favorite
except when blinds are drawn.
midnight eyes
left unpainted.

gazes out the window
Pavlov and his dogs
Picasso and his ladies
looks back, laughing.

unlacquered lady
drowns in despair
mentions the word
"ironic".

sweeter son of soil
caressed on down
looks back, falling.
