I'M WATCHING YOU

From the time you were a little girl with
the cares of the world on your shoulders,
I watched as you made your way in life
from the stepping stones to the boulders.

I know it wasn't easy for you back then
when I left you for work, but I knew
that you were strong enough to survive
all that I had to ask you to try and do.

You were the inspiration that I needed
to keep trying to make things go right
and without your support and caring
I'd not have made it through the night.

So I just wanted to let you know
and it's from my heart, it's true -
you helped me through rough times
with "Mom, I'm watching you!"

Now you've grown up and I believe
that you learned the lessons taught;
to try to do your best in this life,
I've seen the battles you have fought.

I'm proud to see the woman you are now
with a son and daughter of your own.
You've made a difference in this world
and you've made your house a home.

Yes, now - I'm watching you!
