What relief love can bring.
After everything I’ve been through
And everything I’ve done
How could I ever possibly be the one
You want to hold and you want to love
You’re acting as if I were the one sent from above
When in all actuality I don’t know what I’d do
If I had gone through my life not knowing you.
You lift me up, keep me from looking down
Make a bright smile out of my permanent frown.
Days are worth living and nights aren’t as bad
Nightmares don’t haunt me like they once had.
Time seems to stop whenever you’re around
Back away from the ledge, no further need to drown
In my own sorrow and in my own pity.
I have you now, and for me, that is plenty
Enough to survive on, forget water and food
You are my life, and my life is for you,
So I give you my heart, because I know you hold the key
And I know for now that we can only dream
Of life beyond this, but, until then,
I will make sure you know I will love you till the end.
