My Anchor Stripped from Me
And so my anchor is once again stripped from me,

And I watch you drive away in hollow misery,

A last wave I make as you depart,

Our lives separated breaking my heart,

I watch the shadow below creep away,

Wishing that you somehow could stay,

But the deal is done and wrought in stone,

Again home, again all alone,

I look around and all I see,

Your toys, your things to remind me,

Of the fun we had that is now,

Gone as no more time they won't allow,

I look at the pictures around me of you,

Wishing that I could tell you that I cried too,

For the part of me I can no longer see,

The unforgettable grief brings me to my knee,

And so I wait until the next time,

For a couple of days that you are mine,

Till then I will always think of,

The anchor that I so love.
