A poem inspired by a movie. About a dying lover's thoughts.
Right from the very start
It was always you and no one else
Hand in hand we went through heaven
And all the seven hells
You say I too am you
I say you are my sun
The two of us can never be
Yet we remain as one
I will always be a step beneath
Your greatness so divine
This I gladly will accept
As long as you stay mine
I did my best, I gave my all
I sacrificed my heart
But despite all that I gave up
We still were torn apart
Now I lay here on my deathbed
With nothing more to say
You wail and plead and cry my name
"My love, I beg, please stay"
But too late my dearest king
All is lost to you
I curse the day I fell in love
With one unfaithful and untrue
