Just a poem I wrote a few years ago when I was feeling lost.
Purpose

I long to feel a Passion, a Purpose, or a Drive
Strong enough to let me know that I'm still alive.
Alas in my heart naught remains but cold, scattered ashes
And I keenly feel the currents as Time's raging river passes.
My smoldering muse has left my soul and from my path I strayed
Without that incandescent guide I'm lost along my way.
I hope that soon I can rekindle that searing inner flame
to burn away bleak fear and doubt, scorch away self-blame.
Until the candle of my soul has roared back to a glorious fire,
I'm left to wander cold, alone, bereft of all but false desire.
