                                            War and Peace on the Gender Front.



I remember the gender wars began
When a voice, clear and cold as an icicle,
Declared that "a woman needs a man
Just like a fish needs a bicycle."

Her needs, we were told, are her own affair;
A man can't know what they're like.
But I know that now she's more willing to share
A friendly ride on a bike.
