He looks just like you at fifteen 'Like a beanpole' one might say

I have a photo of your son today
He looks just like you at fifteen
'Like a beanpole' one might say
Resemblance- so remarkably keen.

I rode the one hundred miles
It took to travel where you lay
Walked amongst manicured aisles
Found your home encased in clay.

Forgive me, son, I don't come often
Because I live so very far away
Hopefully, words of mine will soften
Fears you have that I might stray.

Just had to come and leave you this
Things that you would love to know
Remember, we miss you dearly, Chris
Wish you were here to watch him grow.
