Boredom (strong content)
Saturday Evening

Digger and I shuffled slowly into The Rack,
leather jacket buckles jangling in the soft breeze,
two piece Brunswick pool cues in leather cases,
shooting pool to combat small town boredom.

Leather jacket buckles jangling in the soft breeze,
70's TV motorcycle cop shades glinting in the summer sun.
Give me a Marlboro. Where the fuck is my Zippo?
Eight pockets slapped looking for the flip-top flame maker.

Two piece Brunswick pool cues in leather cases,
Matching contemptuous, cold sneers on our faces.
Tight worn and torn blue jeans, black concert tees,
and steel toed boots, in case we played too hard.

Shooting pool to combat small town boredom;
on Saturday evening you fight, drink, or fuck.
Screwing together our cues, I take another sip
from a pocketed flask and posture on

Saturday Evening
