While pondering on the aging process; how youth is not only numbers but a frame of mind.
Youth comes and youth goes,
With the intellect of a juvenile;
From the cradle to the teens,
Tis the life of the growing child.

Youth comes and youth goes,
With a mind much bigger than the years;
Hanging with friends, trying to be cool,
Feeling the heartaches, holding back the tears.

Youth comes and youth goes,
Got to keep moving, got to have fun;
Places to go and things to do,
No thought to who I've hurt or what I've done.

Youth comes and youth goes,
Looking for something, don't know what;
Tired of running with no where to go,
Like a fish on a hook, feel like I've been caught.

Youth comes and youth goes,
Age is not kind when the youth has fled;
How can I live with my life of shame?
Only Jesus could cleanse me thru the blood He shed.

Youth comes and youth goes,
My bones are worn and my hair is grey;
But thru His love I have a youthful joy,
Awaiting His presence on that glorious day
