A cold countenance sees into the heart of all... (Haiku Chain)
** Image ID #1530671 Unavailable **

benevolent light
imperator of darkness
ancient azured orb

twice within a twelfth
your glowing visage appears
mystical moonlight

a silent witness
to love's first soft flowering
gentle touch of lips

unwilling specter
debasement, wrath and death
lights not a dark soul

pale sister of day
you illuminate my dreams
with your ashen song

Notes
Prompt: Blue Moon
Traditional Haiku Form (5-7-5)

A blue moon is, by definition, a second full moon in a month hence the reference "twice within a twelfth."
