Poem from a writing prompt about the sea
One last glimpse
at the fading shore.
Sunlight dances off white sand,
shivering points of light
cascading into the sea.
The boat dives into the waves,
an unsettling dance.
My stomach churns with
the symmetry of each wave,
gurgling with a harmony all its own.
Gripping the sides
I fight the surging horror
building in my chest.
Be calm, the small still voice
whispers to my soul.
Embrace the beauty of the sea.
