Wishing she had more faith...
I want the faith to see unseeing
objects 'neath the real world's crust.
I want the faith to feel unfeeling
angels, demons, heavenly trusts.
I want the faith to hear unhearing
promises made and promises kept.
I want the faith to taste untasting
breads and wines and tears unwept.
I want the faith to move the mountains
as He said, from here to there.
I want the faith to drink the fountains
of the waters of life we're supposed to share.
I want the faith to do as led
without the endless questions asked.
I want the faith to look to the future
without all the worrying about my past.
I want the faith to know and love
my god, my God, with reckless abandon.
I want the faith, but find I am lacking
such that I could fly on, instead of stand on.

(Edit: To those who are wondering, yes, the initial lowercase God was intentional. It was meant to separate a 'god' such as the gods of greek mythology and my God Who goes by no other name. No insult meant to anyone who would capitalize any reference. ;)
