If ponies were poets . . .
SUCH POETS ARE THE PONIES!

Such rustlers are
the restless hooves
that trod through fields
swept by breeze --
Such brushes are the
fiery knees
that lift against
the stalks and leaves --
The verse is grazing
glens at dawn
it lifts its throat
in fearful song --
With shaking head
and tongue of glee
the sonnets rhyme
with twigs and trees
and hum away
on wings of bees
while poems flit
from lock to lea --
Such poets are
the ponies!
