Will you let your demons defeat you?... Please R&R!!
They call me Hope.

See my fear in the reflection,
My pain is etched in the stone,
Patience lingers in broken glass,
Warm wind cold to my bones.

Yet they call me Peace.

Tear myself to pieces,
Simplicity in the beautiful lies,
Battles rage beneath the placid water,
Storm clouds roll through clear blue skies.

And still, you call me Mercy.

Cut off an angels wings in flight,
Immortalized a dying flower,
Breathed the breaths of newborn babes,
Broken in the strength of power.

I call out for Jealousy.
I cry for Selfishness.
I call you, Fear.
I scream for Anger.
I bellow at Doubt.

Shining eyes in the turbidity of fear,
Dripping fangs set to pierce the heart,
Crooked smile in darkness sets,
All hope soon set to depart.

They call me worthless,
Call me into shadows when I see light,
“Failure is an option when you stand,
Sit with us and share your plight.”

Ragged in their tattered clothes,
Find my heart shrouded in darkness,
Dismantle the lies of truth revealed,
Through the chaos I transgress.

Scream for mercy, beg for peace,
Find hope withstanding in the veil,
Claw at the shackles bound cold,
Fear and Doubt laugh and prevail.

Such sadness and sorrow in beauty,
Things shined so bright here, now past,
Pain in the heavy chains,
Knowledge learned quickly surpassed.

What good did Selfishness bring,
No joy, no comfort, no love,
It's made a home in the rubble,
Sorrow in the wake thereof.

Collapse under the weight of the world,
Yet there is no true burden I bear,
The shackles unlatched always,
Belief in all that is despair.

Convicted before the Almighty,
Standing covered in tattered clothes,
One last chance for greatness,
Yet there is only who truly knows.

In a time for a sword there is a dagger,
Dripping with the blood of innocence,
In a time for a shield there are empty hands,
To whom is your true alligence?

Welcome me into their weakness,
I am a ghost in the light of man,
Jealousy and Anger cackle softly,
Silently finishing what they began.

I am a defeated victory.
