A poem on conformity and how i think it affects all of us.
On Conformity...

Not that way, that way leads nowhere,
follow me, follow us,
we know the where to go, what to do,
ignore what you think and feel,
stare into the faithful eyes of conformity and embrace it,
don't we look happy?
don't we fit in?
your ideas are meaningless,
nobody else cares what you think.

The dagger in my soul hurts more than you can tell,
blood trickles from an unknown void,
time ticks on and slips through my clenched fists,
how can you fight what isn't there?
pressure clouds my inner eye,
its view obscured by a lapse in strength,
who can i turn to when the wave has already swept everyone to sea?
they have all been bleached by the burning salts,
it's in my eyes,
i can feel it,
it dissolves my freedom,
but what is freedom?
just a glitch in the plan,
a placebo to draw attention from the dread,
everywhere, all around us,
constantly, no remorse,
the crest breaks above my head and crashes down on my mind,
i need to escape, but its everywhere,
my spirit suffocating in the air tight chamber of life,
i want to push the boundaries but i cannot see them,
i want to break down the walls, but they aren't there,
everything is hidden from me,
i know it exists, in all forms,
its just impossible to track down,
it hangs in the shadows, just around the corner,
i try and run to catch it but i trip on another drama,
when will it end?
perhaps it wont, perhaps i should retreat?
