Its all over folks
Down dusty roads of abandoned highways and byways
We send these words past the very seething mouth
of our own ignorance and self-righteous doubt
Explain it now, as the empire falls
Gesturing towards a new light we struggle to meet
A similar doubt in these words written upon the stone
Carved by the imagination borne from fearful discipline
Give it up, humanity has failed
Thunder crashes around us when we distance ourselves
From a higher plain of thought that lifts our spirits
But, what do I know? I’m only a tired man with his
         Life spent wandering, lonely roads
Damaged membranes embellish the thin outlines
We draw around the grey area we have no answers for
Leading a nowhere race to some nowhere place
It doesn’t matter now, We’ve lost
Drag the muddy trenches for a truth we struggle
To notice when illuminated by our own free minds
It happened so fast I think we lost our map
         With the only, reasonable path
Having a reason to believe is having a reason
To abandon knowledge, and real love for each other
That frightening wind of change will destroy all your
Rocks in the sea of sand.
