For the one I loved
Storm clouds gather and fires rage
A moments truth on the very next page
Read the words but not the meaning
Sleep in the silence of the desert night screaming

Passing away like river water flows
A distant memory the cold wind knows
Escape the madness, the toil, the pain
And leave an impression so dirty and stained

I don’t regret all the things that you taught
To me far away from the demons I fought
Now I must go and seek some resemblance
Of a life I once knew; a shadowed remembrance

You were my safe harbor in rough, choppy seas
As the crashing of lightning brought me to knees
Bruised and scraped from crawling in the dark
I regret nothing, except that I lost you and that its my fault
