poem wishing things would change but not doing anything to change it.
Sometimes I say a little pray
Hoping you will see me
I keep waiting for that moment
The one when I’m no longer just a friend
The moment when the lights finally go on
At the moment the sun will brighten
The stars will twinkle and the moon will smile
The chipping of the crickets will become a serenade
The lighting bugs will dance along with us
In that moment I will be everything
I keep hoping for that time to come
Praying I didn’t miss my chance
Wondering if I should had given you a hint
But I’m too scared to get hurt
Don’t want to hear you say no
Just keep hoping and praying
On a star that went out far too long ago.
