Poem of the thoughts of someone in prison.
They locked you away.
In the eyes of the law you are:
Just another dealer
A threat to us
Immature
And failing.

They locked you away.
In the eyes of my neighbours you are:
Out of control
A liar
The old life 'n' soul.
And alone.

They locked you away.
In the eyes of me you are:
A human being
Worthy of love
Wise
And not forgotten.

They locked you away,
But I need you to come back.

I need you to hold me
To comfort me
To tell me everything will be alright.

I need you to ruffle my hair
To tease my stupidity
To tell me what I'm doing wrong.

They locked you away.
Away from me,
But never away from my memories.
