The early morning shown in dull maroon streaks across the gray dull metal sky. It shown across the enormous boulders that had once been a prison to many, and on the yellowed corpes that lay, rotting, on the dusty ground. It shown on the melted electronics, the twisting, turning wires that were once neatly tuned for the toys they were made for, and of course, it shown on the shattered warpodes that were still blinking dim color. The sun did not glint on the small metal cages, for the shadow of the large debris mess, their shiny metal bares, darkened and sullen in the shadows where no else cared to come.

It was quiet, dead quiet however, as if the explosion had caused the whole world to stop spinning on it's axis. Or had it simply caused a great deafness throughout the age. They would definitely come sooner or later though, the row would be first in line, or would they fall last, and leave the area to clear, before rebuilding, or trying to herd back the lambs that had run. Hardly could I be considered a lamb any longer though, thought kameko.
Gavin smiled at me, I think I am going to go crazy. Of all the girls in school, he chose me. He said my hair was nice, and that he liked how I laughed. The school bell rang then, interrupting my thoughts. I ran from the one-door red bricked schoolhouse. He was following me. "Let me walk you home" he told me. The other girls stared after me with obvious envy. Gavin and I walked through the small dusty town. His hair, more of a golden brown in the sun, swayed back and forth in the wind that didn't quite exist.
