Bipolar? Ya think??
I need a good friend with an out-stretched hand
to listen, to care and maybe understand.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Times of elation knocked down by despair;
today I am happy, next week I won't care.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Please won't you help me? Oh, just go away!
I hate you! I love you! I need you to stay.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I feel great today, there's so much to do.
Yard work, dishes -- laundry to name a few.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

All of these thoughts keep swirling in my head.
But what good are they if I stay in this bed?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Something is wrong. I must figure it out.
Crying and laughing and this strong urge to shout!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It's been set, I'll see a doctor next week.
Maybe he will have the answers I seek.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Diagnosis is in, it's been confirmed ~
Bipolar Disorder is how it is termed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Two years later and I feel it can't wait,
I now must reach out and help educate.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Support groups made up of people like me,
All of us striving to finally be free.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I know what it is that I have to do ~
control the rapid cycling and the mood swings too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My mission is clear and I will prevail;
No longer will I accept living in Hell.
