the secrets of water enclosed
I was sitting in my room one late evening. Trying to study and work at the same time and listening to some Chinese instrumental music.
Study didn’t seem to interest me for the moment and neither did work.

I sat back on my chair and tried to listen to the rhythm of the Chinese instruments behind the veils of my eyes.
Just then I felt a spray of water on my face. I came back from darkness to light to see that it was raining heavily. Funny I didn’t notice, I thought!
I stood up and looked out of my window. I felt as thought the rain wanted to tell me a secret and they wanted me to come closer.

I sat on my bed adjacent to my window and listened carefully.
I was very much overwhelmed and surprised to hear what they had to say. They told me that it was one of the wildest secrets of nature and if it spills, would bring nothing but chaos. I promised them to take it to my grave.
In return, I asked them for one favor. I told them that I really wished she was here with me.
They just smiled at me as if it was like a piece of cake for them and without a word, they left.
I was surprised to see that they didn’t reply to my only humble request. I presumed they were in a hurry to some other part of the world to tell someone else their secrets. Someone they trusted.

As I sat there still looking out of the window, I heard someone calling out my name. I turned around to look at the source of the voice. And there she was, standing at my door, smiling at me.
‘Hi…!’, she said. I couldn’t believe my eyes. A moment back I only wished that she were here and there she was, by my door smiling at me.
Such a radiant smile, which would always find light in the darkest depths of my heart. Her eyes, a window through which I could see, whatever I failed to see through mine. She walked towards me and in each step I could see love and passion just waiting to get hold of me. We embraced and her mere touch made me feel safe and no forces could harm me. Our lips met and there I was, standing at the altar of the grapevine. She was sweeter then the sweetest of wine. And before I knew, we began to make love.

By that time, the rain had returned. They saw us and waited patiently. They stood by watching us make love and were not ashamed. They were taken back in time, to the Garden of Eden where Adam and Eve made love everyday and they stood by guarding and protecting them.
They felt the love that we had for each other and waited patiently for us to return from the world of ecstasy. I smiled at them, a little ashamed and then I thought. What for?

As I lie down on my bed, holding her to close to my chest, I told the rain a secret. My secret. They listened carefully and when I finished, sprayed another few drops of water on my face and left.

I could see they were smiling.

I knew I could trust them.
