a brief look at how it was, how I am now

If I get to Heaven
if that's not as cool as life right here;
maybe I can come back
and lay under that
California sun.

Too bad there are no choices.
Life is simple now,
calming - the hustle,
the drive for school, the struggle
to find my way.

I look back wondering
how did I push
through those uncertain
days.

If I get to Heaven
I hope God says:
"Hey, you did some good,
helped folks, made
the lives of others better.

I can only wish.
