Harry Potter fan fiction snape/lily
I close my eyes and take in the world around me. The girl around me. My world. My Lily.
The wind gently kisses us as we sit beneath the tree. Our tree. Our moment.
I think back on all the memories I have shared with her. She has made my life worthwhile. She is my life.
She stands up and runs towards the shore. Her eyes closed, she looks up at the sun, letting it brush her cheeks. She is like an angel, staring homeward at heaven. What is she doing here on Earth, much less with me? The lowest of Earth dwelling mortals? I don’t understand her, but I am captivated.
With a quick look back at me, she kicks off her shoes and socks and jumps into the water.
Laughter, loud and bubbly, heart-catching, infectious, lovely. She is laughing as the waves tickle her wiggling toes. She splashes around in the shallows. I stare longingly.

A smile, shining, beautiful. It catches my heart and I feel a tug in my chest. How can someone do this to someone else? To physically feel them in their heart? To love so blindly…

A flash of red as the light catches her hair, blinding. It’s amazing how beautiful she is without even trying. She is the most amazing person I know.

Her voice, soft and sweet, hypnotizing. She calls to me, begging me to come with her. I am willing to go anywhere as long as Lily is by my side.

"Sev!"

Bright green eyes lock on mine, unfortunate and black, unworthy of recognition by hers. How does she even stand by me and not shrivel away like all the others? The most perfect angel holds hands with the filthiest scum all others flee from. Somehow, she is not defiled though; I am perfected. Together, we are perfect.

"Sev, come on!"
She walks back to the tree, back to me. She waves her hand, summoning me to her side. She is smiling still and I can barely breathe. I can’t focus on anything else. Her smile…her beautiful smile.
I stand slowly, my eyes still locked on her. Trying to focus on walking without stumbling, I step forward.

A step closer, a breath shorter.
The wind picks up again and her small skirt dances in it. She shivers a little. The air carries her aroma to me.

Flowers and sunshine. Can someone possibly smell that wonderful? Of course, only Lily, only an angel. My angel.
With another smile, she walks the rest of the way to me. She stretches out her hand, as she has done so many times before. Yet, she is willing to do it again and again. She doesn’t seem to be tired of me. And for that I am thankful, because I will never tire of her. I could never.

A warm small grip wraps around my cold, clammy hand. She leads me away to the shining blue water.

I'm always following her, with my eyes, mind, heart...always.
