The breathless excitement that is love.
Breathless excitement, spreading fingers of warmth,
Heaving effervescence within my chest,
What is this aching desire?
To brush my hand as a whispering caress,
Over her cool skin; a face so soft,
Framing a perfect smile with crimson lips.

Soon I will stop breathing,
Surely I must, but happiness dwells inside,
What is in there that strains to burst?
My heart!  Is this the first time I feel it beat?
Or is its rhythm changed, does new life surge,
Through pounding blood, so hot?

Sight through new eyes, vision so clear,
A dream surely, of golden hair cascading down,
A light summer dress, tied around a gentle waist,
Accentuating sensual curves, that sway floating pleats
Around legs of creamy skin,
How do I exist with beauty burning intense brilliance?

But exist, I do, her eyes find mine,
I see beyond the circles of fiery green,
Her depths before me, a yearning force,
Pulling me in, falling willingly,
Inside her being, souls entwined,
Overwhelmed, absorbed, saturated in haunting love.
