This got stuck in my head, and the words kept pouring out!
We are individual streams slowly flowing downhill in life,
Twisting around obstacles,
Steadily gaining ground,
And always moving on.
Splash! And reroute,
Splash! And reroute.
That’s our course.
Sometimes we form small pools
Of memories gained,
But always tricking on further.
Always gaining momentum.
Then along came you,
Making twists and turns,
Avoiding your own obstacles,
Until the hill of life brought us side by side.
One life change,
And we would merge.
One day it happened,
A Rock on my side,
A Branch on yours,
No splash!
We flow anew!
Deluging small stones at first,
Gaining momentum,
We dig our own crevasse.
Uphill at times,
Creating tiny islands,
Our own pools.
Splash! And reroute,
Splash! And new route.
One beautiful stream,
Ever moving forward,
Heading towards the ocean…
