My first semester away at college, and my mind drifted back home to the people I love best
Think of me in the bright, early morning,
When mist blurs the edges of th'horizon,
A world of promise draped in pristine white,
A morning such that each lark stirs, trilling
They welcome to the day, their joy for simply living.

Think of me in the midst of noon bustle,
When all about is hurry, scurry; people
Rushing about, goodness knows where, or why,
Going about their business, simply
Living their lives between cups of their coffee.

Think of me in the early afternoon,
A time of work, of school, and of tea, the
Middle of a day, middle of a life,
When things are busiest, life is sweetest;
But memories supplanted by cares of the day.

Think of me in the twilit evening,
That time of shadows, ghosts, or melancholy
Thoughts. That time that you (or I) loved best.
Listen to the birds lullabying, sweet
Songs, hushed, as nature wraps herself in sleep,

Mist rolling in, a blanket, warm and soft.
Listen to the patter of the rain, sweet
Harmony in bliss, then--listen, can you hear?
My whisper beneath the rain, "Good night?"
Think of me, dearest ones, for I am thinking
Of you.
