Written for the Mundane Metamorphosis Contest
Driving to work in my groovy, new Jeep
the two lane road becoming my racetrack
transcending cars with Granny - grunt drivers.
See them only faintly as I look back -
leaving them in dust, nearing the next pack –
pedal to the metal, speeding onward.

Applying my mascara and lipstick -
left knee on steering wheel frees up my hands.
Sixty miles per hour in a forty-five -
radio blaring my favorite bands;
wind in my hair, tangling all the strands -
advancing aggressively forward.

*Note4* The poem must be 2 verses, six lines each. No syllable count required (however, I used a 10 syllable count for each line). Rhyme scheme of abcbbd. Both of the last words in each verse should rhyme with each other to connect the two verses.
