CHAPTER 1. – Something unpredictable but in the end its right (Time of your life - Green day)

I saw them walk into the restraunt looking overly happy and as they walked in, peoples head's turned and the girl blushed unknowingly. She was wearing a summery navy sorta purple skirt and a singlet top with her hair pulled back into a messy bun showing her brunette hair with wavy strands hanging around her ears. They got a seat down next to ours near the window. They both looked like theyve known each other for a long time. They seemed comfortable and relaxed in this atmosphere. Their faces beamed with happiness as they spoke with their eyes. They were having they’re own private conversation. It was really kind of cute. It looked like the girl was expecting something. Maybe he was going to ask her out or something along those lines but they both looked no longer than 17 or 18. I smiled to myself remembering the first and the last time that happened to me. My smiled faded away and I continued to look at them. They started talking and then ordered their meal. The guy said something and her eyes lit up. They glittered more and more as they spoke. Their dinner soon came and so did ours as we had ordered a huge meal. I turned away focusing on my friends and talking to them.

Half way through the meal, we heard shots being fired nearby. The whole restrants atmosphere changed. Many were still in shock and some even were crying already. All work ceased and everything was brought to a halt. Another shot was fired after that and some moved to the glass window to see what was going on outside. Loud gasps could be heard from them and they immediately ducked down. Others bursted into tears and were shaking severely. Quiet whispers circled around the restraunt saying that there was a shooting at the nearby bank. I turned back and glanced at the ‘soon-to-be-couple’ I was looking at earlier to see how they were. The girl was crying, trying to control her tears as the boy held her close trying to comfort her. It was really sweet considering the circumstances. I weakly smiled and looked away before they saw me. They must have thought I was stalking them, turning around every 5 seconds to look at them.

I didn’t know what it was, but I felt a connection with the girl. She looked like my daughter but I walked out on her or a better phrase was I was forced to. I haven’t seen her for years and her face was and is forever in my heart. Tears streamed down my face as I remembered the night she was born, the night I had to leave. It was an indescribable pain piercing through my heart. I flashed back to reality as I heard a woman scream. I looked up to see her bleeding all over the table. My friend to my right whispered to me saying she had spotted the shooters so they fired at her. Then we heard a loud bang and the shooters walked in. They commanded us to get down and keep our heads down facing the floor as they walked swiftly over to the counter asking her to give them all their money. All I heard next was money being shoved into what I think was a black bag that they brought in with them. Something at the back of my head wanted me to look back and check on the girl and the boy. I couldn’t resist it and I did. The girl was still crying in his arms and he was still trying to comfort her. Her whimpers and squeals were heard by one of the shooters and he or she walked to her. They boy jumped in front of her and held his hands up to protect her.
