cake saved
from the wedding,
a tradition
she says,
for the 1st anniversary.
I bite
into the semi-thawed
cake
and smiling,
do not remember
the original
tasting like this.
is this also
a way to preserve
love?
should we take
those precious moments,
those
hallowed moments
of tunnel-visioned love,
and deep freeze them,
save them
for arguments
and disagreements
still to come?
