childhood memories of friendship and winter fun
Tiny flurries falling from the sky so dark,
Flakes floating quietly to make such fun,
Waiting for the morning to ride on the snow,
Mommas saying stay warm and stay close.
Watch out for your brother, dinner is soon.
Listen for my call, or there will be trouble.

Friends walk up the hill, soon the fun.
Crisp clean tracks we make in the snow.
Ready to ride down the hill ever so close,
To the track that will be slick so very soon.
Waiting our turns to avoid any trouble,
Wishing to make so many trips before dark

We play and play with much new fallen snow.
Keeping an open ear, for mama listening close,
Not wanting the end of day to come that soon,
Mercy me none of us want to get into trouble.
Along with nobody wants the coming of dark.
We would love to stay here forever enjoying fun.

Julie and I decide to ride on a sled; we are so close.
Our friendship will part since she will be moving soon.
Hoping we can stay in touch, but it might be in trouble.
We have no idea where she is going; we are in the dark.
As definitely today as many times, we need so much fun.
We shall remember this day like others playing in snow.

Now we are climbing the hill, going down very soon.
Why does parting, sometimes allow relationship trouble.
We both have same fears, like being afraid of the dark.
We truly are soul sisters, no matter what we have fun.
Julie is afraid they are moving to where there is no snow.
I keep telling her, we will always be friends; we are close.

This last slide will be the end to stay out of trouble.
Sun is going down; evening comes, soon to be dark
For the days end has arrived, along with our fun.
We shall bid our goodbyes as we hugged in the snow.
Hugging each other so firm, our faces so close,
We promise each other, that we will be talking soon.

My mother calls, I run to the house before it get s dark.
Remembering the laughter Julie and I had in the snow.
I know somehow; Julie will be contacting me very soon.
