A poem I wrote while thinking of being depressed and depressed people.
Depression Rules Over Me
Its a simple mindless statement, yes, that hurts me.
I feel pain of smaller matters than others.
I do not see the glass half empty nor half full,
I see the glass as a giant void, a desolate desert, an uncomprehendingly melancholy nothingness that makes me yearn for freedom out of the empty place within myself, imprisoning me from outside of my mental box.

I wish not for a good self so others can judge me
Criticism so easy to use, but happiness and content so hard to obtain.
Calm waters bright from the sun and no luster in gold,
Only a reflection of the ugliness I have made of myself
