This is a reflection of my 20 + year relationship with my partner.
      LOVE ETERNAL

© Sandie-Leigh Edwards

The seasons change, they come and go
But our love is eternal like the seeds we’ve sown
Our love has survived beyond any measure
A blossoming flower forever to treasure

Heartaches are past, beyond our concerns
As we grow older and watch the world turn
Trails and tests we’ve had our share
But love prevailed before the chasm of despair

Like two old oaks weathering an age of storms
Limbs gnarled and twisted unable to be torn
Looking in your eyes I am grateful you are mine
As our spirits met they bonded for all time

Our biggest trail is yet to come
When the world ends and all’s said and done
Will our love cross the great divide?
Will our souls journey back together after we die

As I watch you my love burns eternally deep
A myriad of memories we’ve forged for keeps
It’s hard to believe so many years have passed us by
As we watch our children take on their own lives

Your spirit is unique and beyond compare
The love shining in your eyes never fails
Like a stone temple unyielding and strong
You are the ebbing tides, dancing to its own song

So many years we have yet to live
Grateful am I for all that you give
Whatever may come as the seasons go
Our love grows eternal from the seeds we’ve sown.
