A poem about my own feelings of being lost in all the negative things i see in this world.
LOST

    © Sandie-Leigh Edwards

The cold inside burns me alive
As I struggle for strength each day to survive
Darkness is eternal across this barren landscape
Where nothing remains except taunting memories

There is nowhere to turn in my endless despair
All that I am lies shattered beyond repair
The shards of my life fall like a winter’s snow
Lost among the multitude with nowhere to go

Misery and despair follow in my wake
My footsteps silent in this barren landscape
Taunted memories of a childhood lay far behind
As I pray and search looking for a sign

Is there no way out of this iron cage
Childish fears that I will never be saved
A fool’s paradise is where we all live
Where do we go, what do we give
To provide our soul the perfect salvation
Too long I have struggled against my self damnation
