Making room for better things
My six year old got a sad face for arguing with a friend.

"Your Mother doesn't care about you!"
was said.

Being My Mothers daughter. I jumped to the defensive.

In truth I wasn't there. I don't know what happened and getting it out of my daughter is unfair.

Struggling through poor decisions leaves questions that a six year old can't answer. But from the mouths of babes.. I had to wonder have I been uncaring lately? There are worries we keep from the youngest ones, which take us away.
I can spend an hour in the bathroom just to hear what I have to say.. Longing for a new Destiny often I take my love with me. Knowing I can do better is being taken for granted when I fall into bed exhausted.

I can imagine what was said to prompt this reaction from her friend. A part of getting it together is knowing when...
