trying to get through
A space in my brain,
Full of thoughts
Of pain,
Pierces my heart
With showers of darts.

Taken.
A pill.
Suppressed.
The will.

To be free, yet
My wish.
On a sea of velvet.
On this, I relish.

Safety in Your strength,
I hunger.
On this truth,
I linger.

Years of rejection
Taught me to pretend.
I’ve questioned and questioned
On end.

Are wishes enough
To unmask the bluff
And reveal the ‘me’
Too scared to be.
