I wrote this to try the contest for The Writer's Cramp.
Grogginess of an awakening, the beginning is the end

Squinting eyes see no more than a shadowed bedroom

Intuition  knows more than the obvious

Fear envelopes, sealed itself with a bitter lick of realization

Happiness is not apparent

From the blanket of obisidian,
Appears a beastly creature of a small man
Spinached skin, angulared snout, bladed ears, and glazed eyes
With a belly bloated with greed unhidden behind ripped sweated cloth
This one brings forth gold

New car? pOrsche, leXus, eScalade?  CHECK all three
New house?  6 baths, theatre, grand paino?  CHECK all three
Toy dog? Chihuahua, Terrier, Maltese CHECK CHECK CHECK

Unlimited everything.
Whatever you want, everything you need.

Paralysis sets as your hands reach,
GRAB GRAB GRAB!

Nothing is as appears, everything is not that important

Glinted shine, solid suns,
Fascinate the eyes

It's not worth it

beeP, beEP, bEEP

Clenched eyes with normalcy; love is needed, bravery is needed, compassion is needed

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP

Reality settles

Dawn is the real gold

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP

Another day, just another ugly leprechaun

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP

click, not for long though

Eyes close only to be teased in another 5, maybe another click

Spend your life teasing yourself, and you will never be satisfied
