singular poem - first post
Calming of breath as my heart beats rapidly beneath my breast
Slowing the thought process until numbness returns
Shadowing the pain of a taken life
Maintaining the aura of solemn pleasantry

Constantly questioned but answers don’t exist
I am unaware
I take not the self-destructive road of pity
But wallow quietly in the twilight hours

Daylight is reserved, not pressing business
But important none-the-less
At least they are to me
As their pain grows, mine ceases to exist

Roles not wanted but taken with lightness of thought
This is not a burden
This is my family
And together we grieve
