A life behind the food
I am writing this short story for a class I'm in. I need all the feedback I can get. Don't be easy on me!

-----------------------------------------

Upon hearing the news of his father's death, young Silas Palor vowed he'd follow in his footsteps and become a famous chef.
Years later that dream was ruined by reality and he became a bank worker. Silas knew the day he quit becoming a chef, he was defying his father, but he had no other choice.

Silas had consistancy in him, though. Every morning he woke up at exactly 6:42 A.M. and ate a meager breakfast of Cheerios and OJ. This would be fuel enough for the comming day. And every morning, no matter what the day, Silas made sure he had the purple paper clip in his front left pocket.
On this morning, however, he didn't walk through this threshold and descend down the metal staircase which rattled every time someone walked on it; but instead bumped into a cardboard box which reached half the height of the entrance. He stood perplexed at this package with no note to be found. He disregarded the rectangle and consentrated on the day ahead. He faced the east and watched as the sun beamed down rays across baron tree limbs.. . . . .

This is all I have so far.. tell me any suggestions you have! Thanks!
