Poem about fearing something you can't see
Do not fear what you cannot see
That is what they told me

Do not be in a state of alarm
It can do you no harm

They had tried and tried
To keep me calm, but they had lied

For what I cannot see, only hear
Is always near

It stays in the shadow
So it can follow

I hear its footsteps scrape
When I turn it seems to escape

As it nears
So grows my fears

It wants me
It needs me

As I feel its breath
I fear my death

I feel the pain
As my life it does drain

Darkness surrounds me
I wish to flee

And then nothing

Now it is I in the shadow
As I follow

Follow they who told me not to fear
They too shall know I am near

When they feel my breath
They too shall fear their death

Into the darkness they will fall
To no one they will call.
