Poem about letting go and growing up.
I don't want to run to you
No, not anymore
I want to be strong
I want to be a friend that you're proud of
A friend you'll have seen grow
from timid and weak
to bold and independant
I want ot be able to look you in the eye
and say what I feel,
instead of hiding in this shy shell
I need to not need you
to feel I'll be alright
You're not here anymore
and you might never come back
so I need to be strong
I need to let go
I need to not need you anymore
I need to be alright
when I can't hear your voice,
can't see your face
I need to be able to survive
when you're not there
holding my hand every step of the way
Sure, it was nice
I felt safe
But now you're gone
and I'm hurting
There's no chance in hell
that I'll ever let my self hurt like this again
So I need to be strong
and I need to not need you anymore
