Abusive relationship with fear.
I am your comforting, fatherly fear.
I refuse to be anywhere else but here.
I will tie you down to limits.
I will toil to captivate your spirits.
Never will you ever be in the dark;
I won't let any insecurity spark.
I know what you need, how to turn you on.
In the end, you are only a pawn.
Be careful, I have obtained more power.
Your control slides away by the hour.
If you reject me, I will fight.
I will battle you with all my might.
How dare you try to rid yourself of me,
The one that never let you see.
No, you must forever remain blind.
I've kept you from discomfort,
I have been kind.
You demand that I leave,
But I've kept you alive.
And for my presence, you will surely strive.
It all turns opposed;
You ask for a change,
You must be foolish or insanely deranged.
You cannot fall back on me now.
Find another way.
I am no longer permitted to plan out your day.
See if I mind when you suppress and repress;
Press, stress, and merely guess.
See me smile when you make your mistakes,
Pitifully wounded, tending to your aches.
See if I cry for you when you take a wrong turn.
See if I hide my face in shame when you finally learn.
