As a small child I dealt with a lot of different kinds of abuse these poems describes it
ONE GIRLS TEARS

A tear swells in the little girl's eyes

As she tells the police of her demise.

A tear begins rolling down her cheek

As her life she unfolds- melancholy and bleak.

The tear trickles down, slides past her nose

As she serializes and her story grows.

The tear now rests on her lip like rain

As she tells of how her heart was slain.

The tear now dribbles off her chin

As she describes the situation she was in.

Tears begin to deluge within her eyes

As she tells of abuse in disguise

The tears begin to soak deep in her skin

As she tells of the emotional abuse within.

The tears refrain and start to sear

As she now tells of a sexual fear.

The tears soon resume once again

As she says “ I tried to stop him the best I can.”

The tears now turn to wails

As she explains of the sexual shame and betrayal.

The sobbing stops and her eyes start to burn

As she stops that moment, her stomach churns.

Then her eyes begin to water once more

As she tells of the physical pain that tore.

The tears remain for a little while

As the police finish on her file.

The tears she “found” now return

As she's going to a “foster home;” she learns

The tears haven't flown long at all

Until the policeman receives a call.

Then the sobbing comes back, very slow

As what the call she does now know.

The tears are held back, as the wails now come

And the little girl's body now feels numb.

The wails begin to fade away

As she realizes the “home” is safe to stay.

The tears cease and she looks around

As she knows of the love she has found.

The tears and pain I know and see

because the little girl was me.
